West Tennessee

In West Tennessee, First Horizon Foundation provides grants to eligible nonprofits in Memphis/Shelby County and Jackson, TN.

Organizations we’ve supported in West Tennessee include:

Mid-South Food Bank

Through our contribution, we have helped the Mid-South Food Bank double its capacity to feed the hungry people of the Mid-South. In 2018 alone, the organization distributed more than 13 million pounds of nutritious food to more than 220,000 people in our area.

This organization mentors young women ages 8-18 years old through musical training in areas with limited access to the arts. Through our grant, AngelStreet enabled girls in low-income areas to develop their artistic potential through song and music.

Shelby Farms Park

Shelby Farms is one of the largest urban parks in the country, boasting 4,500 acres, 40 miles of trails and 20 bodies of water. The Foundation’s capital contribution helped renovate and update the park and build the First Horizon Foundation Visitor’s Center.

Southern Reins

Through equine therapy, Southern Reins serves individuals with physical, cognitive and emotional disabilities. Our grant has helped Southern Reins continue to make profound and life changing differences in the lives of its participants by supporting its growth to a new, larger facility.

Facing History and Ourselves

This international educational and professional development organization empowers teachers and students to think critically about history and to understand the impact of their choices. Our grant directly assists with the core professional development of future leaders in our community.

Junior Achievement of the Mid-South

Through our contribution to the Junior Achievement’s JA BizTown, 5th and 6th grade students receive an experiential learning program to learn how to become productive citizens by working in fully interactive simulated town facility.
